“Bev is a diamond!” according to Leamington cricket club and we’re delighted to name her as our December Sporting heroine.
Bev has inspired other volunteers to help the club and has recruited many new members in the junior section, who meet on Friday evenings. Leamington cricket club now has over 130 youngsters. Behind the scenes Bev helps with the bar, the clubhouse cleaning, ordering stock and much, much more. She also cajoles her husband, Steve and other family members to help with DIY around the club, which is greatly appreciated.
Bev has implemented a new subscription system and, as Assistant Treasurer and now Treasurer has been instrumental in transforming the club finances, successfully applying for 2 new grants and improving financial reporting.
Last, but certainly not least, Bev is involved with Visually Impaired cricket because her son Justin plays both for England and for the Warwickshire Bears. Through her, Leamington Cricket Club has been honoured to become more involved and hosts VI games, including two Ashes matches in 2012.
Bev is truly inspirational for local cricket and we hope she enjoys her award of a beautiful Tissot watch.
