Local brothers Tom and Joe Milner have been recognised for their innovative retailing by a place in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 for 2012. They received their award at a glittering event at the Freemasons’ Hall in Covent Garden, London on 4th September
Tom and Joe Milner were amongst the hundreds of guests who turned out in their finery for the third annual event where champagne and vodka flowed long into the night. The Hot 100 is an annual project run by the UK’s leading jewellery magazine Professional Jeweller and is sponsored by the Company of Master Jewellers. The magazine selects 100 individuals from the UK jewellery industry that it believes have shown true innovation and have driven their businesses forward over the past 12 months.
A delighted Joe explained “The list is kept entirely secret until it is revealed on the night, so it was a complete surprise when we saw our names amongst the winners. This puts us in the top 20 jewellery retailers in the UK for innovation”. Tom added “it’s great to have our hard work, and that of all our staff at Tustains, recognised by the industry”.
At the Hot 100 party Professional Jeweller editor-in-chief Rachael Taylor said of the event “The Hot 100 2012 was an absolutely stunning event. The party is our gesture of appreciation for the work that is undertaken day-in-day-out by those working to make our industry special and recognises the best of the best in the UK jewellery industry. Everyone who has made it into the 2012 Hot 100 has excelled in the past year.”
In the last year Tustains have had a store makeover that modernises the shop and has given it a lighter and more spacious feel. Customers have appreciated the new private consultation room which allows for a more relaxed and informal time to discuss individual requirements for their watch or jewellery choice. The store now incorporates furniture from leading brands Omega, TAG Heuer, Tissot and Links of London.
Joe and Tom have introduced a formal sponsorship programme with our local football team in Leamington, hosting a number of joint events and becoming the club’s official timing partner. Both brothers have long been keen football supporters so were very happy to further the links between the organisations.
The Tustains special shopping events where specially invited guests were treated to champagne and canapés whilst they browsed the stunning jewellery and watch collections have also been new ideas appreciated by the industry.
