Tustains professional jewellery valuation service

Tustains jewellers offers a specialist jewellery and watch valuation service. This is carried out on site meaning your most prised belongings remain with the highly trained and trusted team at Tustains. We have a full equipped gemmological laboratory on site enabling our highly qualified gemmologist to assess your items for quality and treatment.

When you bring items in for valuation we carefully discus with you your specific needs to ensure we provide you with the most appropriate and detailed record possible. We provide valuation for Probate, Insurance, Post Loss and any other instance requiring assessment.

All jewellery, diamond and gemstone items are carefully cleaned so they can be accurately assessed for quality. A Professional Gemmological microscope is used to give the best possible view of stones, allowing us to assess if they are natural, manmade or treated in anyway. Having assessed all aspects of the jewellery we check our findings with known sources of price to insure the accuracy of our valuation.

Our Valuer and gemmologist Ella has been with Tustains for five years and is very highly qualified. Ella is a diamond graduate (DGA) and fellow (FGA) of the world renowned Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A),  she has a BSc honours degree in Gemmology and Applied Mineralogy from Kingston University and she has recently completed the Institute of Registered Valuers (IRV) theory course enabling her to apply for IRV status. She has also completed the Gemological of Institute of America’s (GIA) highly specialised education program on pearls and is continuing her study with the GIA to achieve her full Graduate Gemologist (GG) status which she is predicted to complete over the next two years. As well as being a gemmologist, Ella has worked in the jewellery trade for over ten years, which has resulted in a broad knowledge of watch brands, second-hand markets and collectible items.
