Watch Servicing - What you need to know.

If you have a luxury watch it's so important to keep it well maintained. This can sometimes seem like a confusing process, so we are here to break it down for you.

There are two types of servicing; a maintenance or a complete service, whcih apply to both quartz and mechcanicl watches.

So which service do you need?   

Maintenance service: (normally required every 2-3 years)

  • Disassembling and cleaning of the case, metal bracelet and clasp.
  • Replacing battery in quartz models.
  • Replacing all seals and gaskets including the crown.
  • Reassembling and checking the water resistancy of the case.
  • Tuning the precision and checking movement parameters and watch functions.

Complete Service: (normally required every 4-6 years)

  • Disassembling and refurbishment of the case, metal bracelet and clasp*.
  • Replacing battery in quartz models.
  • Disassembly, cleaning and replacing of standard movement parts.
  • Assemly, lubrication, adjustment and setting of movement function parameters.
  • Reassembling and checking the water resistancy of the case.
  • Tuning the precision and checking movement parameters and watch functions.

*excludes models with black carbon surface treatments, plated or PVD finish watches.
