Paul Rose from Lillington, Leamington Spa, has been selected as our November winner. Paul is a real football fanatic, who has been involved with Leamington Hibernian Football Club since he was nine. Having started there as a young player, he then qualified at 14 as a referee for the club. At sixteen he became a FA coach and is now manager of one of their youth teams.
Under his leadership the under 9 side have been promoted once and narrowly a second promotion. Paul gives up a lot of time coaching both these youngsters and also coaches with Coventry City's football in the community scheme. Paul and is currently studying for his level 2 coaching badge alongside his sports studies at Warwickshire college
Would you like to nominate someone who, like Paul, has made a fantastic contribution to local sport? The judging panel at Tustains and at the Leamington Courier will select eleven more winners from amongst the nominations, who will each receive a prize of a beautiful Tissot watch worth £270.
The only criteria we ask for is that the person nominated is involved in local grassroots sport. They can be of any age and be involved in any sport - they just have to have done something that is a little bit extra special. This could be someone who works quietly behind the scenes, someone who is an inspiration to others and leads by example, someone who always goes out of their way to help others or just someone who has made an outstanding contribution to their team.
Judges will choose which nomination they think is most worthy and that person will win a watch courtesy of Tustains and Tissot - it’s a simple as that!
