We are delighted to launch our search for a dozen grassroots community sporting stars! We need your help to nominate someone you know that has made a fantastic contribution to local sport, whether on or off the pitch, that deserves to be recognised and thanked. Over next 12 months, the judging panel at Tustains and at the Leamington Courier will select from amoungst the nominations the most deserving winners, who will receive a prize of a beautiful Tissot watch worth £270.
The only criteria we ask for is that the person nominated is involved in local grassroots sport. They can be of any age and be involved in any sport - they just have to have done something that is a little bit extra special. This could be someone who works quietly behind the scenes, someone who is an inspiration to others and leads by example, someone who always goes out of their way to help others or just someone who has made an outstanding contribution to their team.
Judges will choose which nomination they think is most worthy and that person will win a watch courtesy of Tustains and Tissot - it’s a simple as that!
Tom Milner, from Tustains, said: “It has been great getting to know some of the people at the sports clubs in Leamington, through our involvement as a sponsor of the football, cricket and rugby clubs.
The work that is put in is amazing, the dedication shown in supporting the youth sections alone is immense. We are proud to be associated with sports in Leamington and look forward to rewarding local success whether on or off the pitch.”
Courier editor Chris Lillington added: “I know there are some great people achieving incredible feats week in week out and a whole army of coaches, helpers and officials working hard to keep our community sports clubs and events thriving. I think it’s great we are able to reward them in this way and I look forward to hearing some of their stories soon.”
